16 January 2026

Dear Parents/Guardians,

RE: Welcome to the 2026 School Year

Welcome to the 2026 school year at Lighthouse Christian College.

Whether you are a returning family or joining our community for the first time, we warmly welcome you and look forward to partnering with you in your child’s learning journey this year. We are grateful for the trust you place in us and value the strong partnership between home and school that supports our students to flourish.

Below is some important information to assist with a smooth start to the year.

Important Dates:

·      Saturday, 24 January: Parent Involvement Program – Working Bee.

·      Tuesday, 27 January: First day for Grade 1 to Year 12 students.

·    Thursday, 29 January: First day for Prep students from 9am to 12.30pm.

·      Wednesday, 4 February: Parent Information Session (details to follow).

Car Park Courtesy & Onsite Safety

To ensure the safety of all members of our community, we kindly ask families to:

·      Drive slowly (10km/h on school grounds) and courteously in the College car park and surrounding streets.

·      Follow all staff directions during drop-off and pick-up times.

·      Avoid stopping in no-standing zones or blocking driveways.

For child safety and emergency management reasons, any parent or visitor onsite after 9:00am is required to sign in at Reception. This process supports our duty of care and helps us maintain accurate records of all adults onsite during the school day.

Medical Documentation

Parents of students with diagnosed medical conditions (including asthma, allergies or anaphylaxis) are required to complete and update medical documentation annually via the Parent Engage Portal.

This includes:

  • A Medical Action Plan completed by your child’s doctor.
  • The College Individual Risk Management Plan, completed by parents.

Both documents must be completed prior to your child attending school in Term 1.

To access these forms, please log in to the Parent Engage Portal and navigate to Forms & Medical → Medical Management Plans.

If you require assistance, please contact the School Nurse on 8796 7305 or Reception on 8796 7373.

Bus Services

We remind families that the College bus service is available for students who live along the designated bus

route. Families who may be eligible are welcome to make use of this service.

·      Designated bus stops are drop-and-go only.

·      Year 5–12 students may use the bus service independently.

·      Prep–Year 4 students may only use the service if accompanied by an older sibling (Year 5–12).

Families wishing to use the bus service are asked to complete the School Bus Expression of Interest Form for New Students.

Parent Involvement Program

As part of our commitment to shared responsibility and community engagement, each family contributes through the Parent Involvement Program. Each family pays a $100 Parent Levy, which is credited back once

either:

·      Two hours at a Working Bee, or

·      Approved volunteering at a College Community Event has been completed.

Our first Working Bee for 2026 will be held on Saturday, 24 January 2026. To register for this event, please click here: Working Bee on 24/01/26
