Dear Parents and Guardians,

Re: Respect for Our Neighbours.

At Lighthouse Christian College, we value the strong partnership we share with our surrounding community.

As a school founded on Christian values, we are called to demonstrate respect, kindness and consideration in all we do; including the way we enter and leave our school grounds each day.

We have been receiving concerns from local residents about traffic behaviour during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times, particularly in Breanne Place. Residents have reported increasing difficulty

accessing their driveways, cars queuing across entrances and some parents not allowing residents to enter or exit their own properties.

While the school day brings a short period of increased traffic, our neighbours have always expressed appreciation for the courtesy shown by our families. Unfortunately, over the past few months this has begun to change.

We kindly ask all families to help us restore the respectful, community-minded culture we are known for by:

  • Keeping all driveways completely clear - do not queue across or park in front of any residential driveway, even briefly.
  • Allowing residents to enter and exit their properties promptly - please pause and let them through when you see indicators.
  • Using patience and courtesy - avoid using horns where possible and give way when appropriate.
  • Modelling Christ-like behaviour for our students and community through our actions and attitudes.

As a college, we share this neighbourhood with our residents and it is both our Christian and civic responsibility to show respect and care. Maintaining positive relationships is essential and small acts of courtesy go a long way in supporting the reputation of our school.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us remain a blessing to our community.
