At Lighthouse Christian College, the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority.

To ensure that staff can respond quickly and effectively in a medical emergency, it is essential that they can easily identify students with serious medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy and severe allergies.

In accordance with Ministerial Order 706, the Anaphylaxis Guidelines for Victorian Schools, and relevant privacy legislation, the College maintains Medical Alert Posters containing your child’s name, photograph, relevant diagnosed medical condition(s), and clear emergency response instructions taken directly from their provided action plans.

This information is displayed in secure staff-access areas of the school. We handle all personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). Information is shared only with staff who have a direct responsibility for student safety and is updated or removed when it is no longer required. Displaying this information ensures that any staff member can quickly recognise the student, locate their medication and provide the correct first aid response, even if the student is not in the care of their usual teacher.
